Every dollar counts when you give to United Way of King County
$10 to United Way enables one person to find volunteer opportunities to improve the community through unitedwayofkingcounty.org/volunteer. Last year, United Way of King County linked 25,000 people with volunteer opportunities.
$25 to United Way connects eight people to 2-1-1, a free phone number that helps people find resources for food, shelter, employment and more. Since 2-1-1 launched in February 2006, it has taken 81,293 calls from people needing help.
$50 to United Way educates 15 people about the importance of early childhood development. Last year, United Way of King County helped 28,000 people, including new parents, learn about its impact on the future of the community.
$100 to United Way strengthens a youth's academic skills. United Way of King County's goal this year is to help 26,942 children and youth achieve in school.
$250 to United Way helps eight low-income people get free tax preparation services to increase their incomes and create savings. Last year, United Way volunteers prepared 11,288 tax returns and helped return $13.5 million in federal refunds back to the community. The tax campaign saved customers more than $800,000 in tax preparation fees.
$500 to United Way helps four parents learn the skills they need to nurture their children and be successful moms and dads. Last year United Way of King County helped more than 4,200 parents strengthen their parenting skills.
$1,000 to United Way shelters seven homeless people. Last year, United Way of King County helped 15,500 homeless people find a safe haven from the streets.
