Your visionary contributions help ensure more money goes to people in need.

Generous contributions have put the Gates Challenge ahead of schedule. Because of this endowment, United Way's net operating ratio continues to decrease annually.

Net operating ratio and ending market value

Lower operating costs allow more of every donor dollar given to United Way to go directly to solving health and human service issues in King County.

United Way of King County thanks investors in the Gates Challenge Endowment for their vision and support. Donors wishing to continue investing in the endowment can do so. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will continue its dollar-to-dollar match on all investments made in the endowment through June 30, 2011.
