How the Community Assessment is Organized

Information is organized in four sections:

  • NEW! Basic Needs page tracks a set of indicators that represent the impact of current economic conditions on people in our community.
  • Key Data and Demographics section provides demographic and other data on King County’s residents that relates to human service provision.
  • Impact Areas provide information related to each of our eight community impact areas: Homelessness, School Readiness, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Employment and Job Training, Health and Chemical Dependency, Older Adults, System Support and Youth and Families.
  • Subregions section provides information on demographic data and priority issues in each of our County’s 4 subregions: North King County, East King County, Seattle, and South King County.
  • Cross-cutting Issues section provides information on poverty, racial equity and immigration as issues that are relevant to all areas of human service provision.
  • Best and Promising Practices section provides information on service strategies that have been demonstrated by research to be most effective in promoting the outcomes we seek as part of our community impact.
