Microsoft Breaks Giving Record With $100 million in 2011

Microsoft's total giving since its campaign began in 1983 has topped an impressive $946 million. What's more impressive are the numbers coming just from the 2011 campaign: 35,500 employees across the U.S. raised a record-breaking $100.5 million, including corporate matching, to support more than 18,000 nonprofit organizations around the world. Even during the tough economic situation, employees gave $4.5 million more in 2011 than 2010.

A United Way of King County Top 2 company, Microsoft is a key partner in providing innovative solutions to our community's biggest problems. The Parent-Child Home Program expanded this fiscal year to 500 families from 160, thanks to a $1 million donation from Microsoft. And our free tax preparation campaign is making strides across King County to help more low-income families save money.

United Way gives a heartfelt congratulations to Microsoft employees who are accomplishing so much in our community and across the globe.
