United Way of King County Breakfast

Our June 2 Breakfast at the Paramount was a marvelous morning.

United Way President and CEO Jon Fine gave an update on the work we're doing to in the community. Outgoing Campaign Chair Molly Nordstrom spoke eloquently about her United Way experiences over the past year.

Former Campaign Chair John Stanton was joined by internationally renowned University of Washington professors Dr. Patricia K. Kuhl and Dr. Andrew N. Meltzoff to discuss the latest findings from research on the developing brain.

And the biggest news of all? Incoming United Way Campaign Co-Chair Kathy Surace-Smith announced the official launch of a campaign to grow the Parent-Child Home Program! We'll be raising $25 million to make this highly-effective early learning program available to every eligible family in King County.

In support of this effort, several area companies and organizations have already made leadership gifts, including Safeco, The Boeing Company, and The Seattle Foundation. In addition, a $1 million investment from Microsoft was announced by the company's general counsel, incoming United Way Campaign Co-Chair Brad Smith.

Thank you to the morning's emcee—KING 5 News Anchor, Dennis Bounds, all the speakers and everyone who joined us at the Paramount.

The United Way Breakfast at the Paramount would not be possible without the incredibly generous support of our corporate sponsors!
