Community connects at CRE
At the Unite to End Homelessness Community Resource Exchange, more than 400 volunteers and service providers helped more than 1,000 homeless individuals with access to vital services all in one place, in one day.
Services received included:
- 1,000 care packages distributed containing new socks, underwear and hygiene products
- $1,500 in emergency cash assistance distributed
- 350 bus tickets distributed
- 300 haircuts provided
- 250 long distance calls (through Sprint Nextel)
- 200 participants had their feet washed
- 90 Portraits (donated professional photographs)
- 75 Voicemail accounts set up through Community Voicemail
- Seattle Community Law spoke to 50 participants and accepted 10 new clients
We're grateful to all of the event sponsors for their support including Fannie Mae Foundation's Help the Homeless program, Providence Health & Services Washington/Montana and Seattle Seahawks. We would also like to thank all of the volunteers and service providers who generously gave their time to make both events a success.
We've heard from countless volunteers about their personal stories and the impact the Community Resource Exchange had on them. Now we'd like to hear from you. Please share your story with us and view photos of the event.
Together, we can help everyone have a home.
