On Friday, September 11, United Way's Community Resource Exchange connected 1,227 people experiencing homelessness with the services they needed - all in one place, on one day.

Over 300 volunteers from companies across King County stepped up to help make a difference in the lives of so many who struggle each day just to survive.

  • 300 volunteers
  • 100 service providers
  • 1,600 hot meals served
  • 1,200 care packages distributed
  • 54 tax returns completed
  • 80 applications for public benefits completed on site
  • Several hundred people received free prescriptions for eyeglasses
  • Hundreds of people received haircuts, chair massages, foot washing and hand care
  • 20 people received hotel/motel vouchers and several people were placed in transitional housing at the CRE

Thank you to everyone who donated supplies, worked as a service provider or volunteered during the day. We couldn't have done it without you—and the generous support of our Community Resource Exchange sponsors:

Microsoft, Virginia Mason and Seahawks
