Sound Award in 2006.

United Way of King County is throwing a party in honor of your commitment, creativity and heart. That's right—we will be celebrating YOU at this year's Spirit of Caring Celebration on March 1 at the Grand Hyatt Seattle. Please join us for a great night of food, friends and special surprises. Your official invitation will be coming soon.

During this very special event, we will be announcing the winners of our Spirit of Caring Awards, which are United Way of King County's highest form of community recognition. Congratulations if you are among this year's nominees! The awards focus on excellence in workplace giving campaigns and include the following categories: Chairman's Award, Leadership Giving, Most Significant Increase, Sustaining Supporter, Labor Union Participation, Best New Campaign and Campaign Coordinator of the Year.

The top honor is the Spirit of Puget Sound Award, which is chosen by a special judging committee. Last year's winner was Puget Sound Energy.

In addition to recognizing giving campaigns, the Spirit of Caring Awards honor volunteerism. One exceptional volunteer will receive the Volunteer of the Year Award and a company will receive the Outstanding Employee Volunteer Program.

Among this year's nominees for the Spirit of Caring Awards, no single company dominated. This shows the diversity of the organizations that show their commitment to the community by supporting United Way of King County. Companies such as Bank of America, Macy's and Safeco made the cut, as did Lake Union Drydock Co., Skyway Luggage Company and Highline Public Schools.

The Spirit of Caring event is a free and open to the public. We thank Safeco Corporation, Accenture, UPS, The Boeing Company, and the Grand Hyatt Seattle for generously sponsoring the celebration.

See you March 1!
