John Stanton new campaign chair

Wireless industry pioneer John Stanton will be chairing United Way of King County's 2007-2008 fund-raising campaign. Among many notable achievements, he served as chairman and CEO of VoiceStream and T-Mobile USA. He is a terrific motivational speaker and hopes to engage the community with his passion for ending homelessness and making the community aware of the importance of getting children ready for school. We thank him for his leadership and support of United Way's work to create profound and positive change in the lives of thousands of people.

Join thousands of your friends, neighbors and colleagues Friday, September 21 for an all-county day of volunteering. It's a fun way to make a huge difference in just one day. Day of Caring starts with a fabulous kickoff celebration at 7:30 a.m. at the Seattle Center. Enjoy a continental breakfast and live music and pick up your Volunteer Care Package full of helpful tools and treats. Plus, enter to win fabulous prizes including a cruise for two on the Holland America line.

Campaign coordinator conference September 26
Our coordinator conference is a terrific opportunity to meet other coordinators and trade ideas and best practices. If you are a rookie coordinator, this is an excellent opportunity to gain a lot of information that will help you as you plan your campaign. And, if you are a seasoned campaign veteran, use this opportunity to learn about the new happenings at United Way of King County, and share your expertise with others. Be on the lookout for your official evite, which will come next month.
Help homeless students succeed in school

United Way of King County is partnering with the Seattle-King County Coalition for the Homeless to collect school supplies for homeless students through the Project Cool for Back-to-School program. Project Cool will provide backpacks, school supplies and gift certificates for shoes to 2,000 homeless children and youth living in King County. Learn how you can help >>
