PACCAR, a global technology company, is the 2006-2007 winner of United Way of King County's prestigious Spirit of Puget Sound Award. The award is recognized as the highest achievement for corporate philanthropy in King County. It honors outstanding community involvement and campaign excellence, and also a consistent pattern of outstanding campaign results over time.

"We are proud to present PACCAR with the Spirit of Puget Sound Award. They have consistently displayed wonderful generosity and dedication in strengthening the social infrastructure of Western Washington," United Way of King County President/CEO Jon Fine said. "They are an inspiration and great partner in our work to prepare children to be successful in school as well as meeting the needs of so many in our communities."

PACCAR raised more than $1 million in King County during their annual workplace campaign, representing the fifth consecutive year they have increased their campaign total.

"PACCAR is very delighted to earn the Spirit of Puget Sound Award," Mark Pigott, chairman and chief executive officer, said. "PACCAR's leadership for 101 years is based on a foundation of corporate citizenship, and our partnership with United Way of King County is integral to enhancing the lives of our employees and their neighbors in the communities in which they reside."
