Most Significant Increase Award Winners For exceptional campaign growth

Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Chris Cummings from Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Active support by leadership enabled Enterprise Rent-A-Car to significantly increase its giving and direct more to United Way of King County. Enterprise consistently runs very successful campaigns and their giving history makes this year's increase of $74,000 even more incredible. The fact that management hosted a company-wide party at a local hotel with complimentary food and drinks obviously contributed to what has traditionally been a great campaign.

PCL

Garth Hornland from PCL Construction Services

PCL Construction Services really stepped up its campaign this year. Not only did it participate in United Way of King County's Day of Caring, employees took time to visit some of the agencies supported by United Way. PCL also held a special luncheon for leadership givers and had speakers come in and talk about the work being done in the community. Top management encouraged everyone to put it into high gear and give back to the community. The work of the entire team really paid off this year. Not only did 70% of PCL Construction's giving go to United Way of King County, but before PCL's corporate match was added, employee contributions to the campaign doubled this year! The one-to-one corporate match made what was already an incredible campaign even more spectacular.

Sound Transit

United Way CEO Jon Fine and Joanne Amiri from Sound Transit

Sound Transit managed a campaign this year with more than a 30% increase in giving to United Way. In all facets the 2006 fundraising campaign was a success. Campaign Coordinator Jerry DeMuro scheduled an array of events, ranging from a paper airplane contest, to a home run derby. Sound Transit employees wanted to learn about the work being accomplished in the community. They brought in various speakers to their staff meetings including United Way of King County CEO, Jon Fine. Even upper management got into the program with CEO Joni Earl, a new United Way of King County board member, hosting a barbecue at her house for the team that collected the most pledges.
