Labor Participation Award Winner For exceptional union membership participation in workplace campaigns

Communications Workers of America, Locals 7800 and 7803

Jeanne Stewart and Malachy Sreenan from Communications Workers of America Locals 7800 and 7803

Members of Communications Workers of America Locals 7800 and 7803 worked together with Cingular Wireless and Qwest-among other companies and public sector organizations-to put together a tremendous campaign. Both locals participated in Day of Caring projects this year. CWA leadership was supportive throughout the campaign. District Vice President Annie Hill encouraged all of the members of locals 7800 and 7803 to support their community through the United Way of King County fundraising campaign. Campaign Coordinators Jeanne Stewart and Malachy Sreenan used a variety of tools to motivate and excite members, from inviting United Way speakers to union meetings to including articles in local newsletters. The members of Communications Workers of America helped bring their union and companies together and created a bond in strengthening their community.
