Become a United Way Volunteer Reader

One of the best ways you can help to prepare children for success in school—and life—is to become a Volunteer Reader for United Way of King County.

When you read aloud with kids on a regular basis, you not only build their language, learning and social skills, you make learning fun and meaningful. By simply committing a couple of hours a week of your time, you can have a profound impact on the lives of the children you help.

United Way of King County is currently recruiting volunteers to read aloud to young children (ages 3-5), one-on-one, at select preschools, Head Start classrooms, and child care centers throughout our community on a weekly basis.

Register today, or for more information, e-mail readers@uwkc.org or call Carolyn Cunningham at 206.461.3656.
