Thank you for
making Day of Caring a success!
Thank you to everyone who participated and organized
volunteer projects for Day of Caring, 2007. Over 7,200 volunteers worked at
over 360 projects from 119 organizations through out King County. We truly
could not have done this with out all the talented volunteer managers spread
throughout the county so one last thank you and job well done everyone!

Host a project
for MLK Day of Service
Time to get planning for the New Year, and top of the
list is getting your project(s) planned for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day
of Service with the University of Washington and United Way of King
County. The event takes place on Jan 21st and we need projects
for the anticipated 1,000+ students, faculty and staff from the U of WA that
will be volunteering that day.

your Holiday and Adopt-A-Family opportunities
We have special sections for
Holiday Volunteer Opportunities and
Adopt-a-Family campaigns that get lots of traffic every year. Be sure
to post your opportunities and take advantage of all the people that are
looking to volunteer at this time of year.

That’s right, Seattle has the 5th highest
metropolitan volunteer rate in the United States!!! All of you are a part

United Way is putting
on a few trainings before the New Year that you or your colleagues could be
interested in attending. If you have not participated in our Volunteer
Program Management class yet we highly recommend every Volunteer Manager
takes part. It is a wonderful class for all levels of volunteer managers.

Can I link my volunteer opportunities listed with
United Way of King County to my organization’s webpage so I only have to
update my listing in one place?
YES! Here’s how:
- Log in to your agency profile - you will be on
your Overview page
- Scroll down until you see a heading of links that
say General Administration
- You should see a link that says, “Link Your
Listing”, click on the link
- The next page will have a sample of what different
links look like and the HTML code that would provide that link.
- Copy the HTML code and get it to your webmaster
who will create a link on your website to advertise your listings.
