MLK Day, A Day of Service in the Spirit of Dr. King
Thanks to all who participated in Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - great results and lots of good work was accomplished on the day. 1,200 volunteers at 60 different agencies across King County made this a very eventful and productive day of service for everyone that volunteered from the University of Washington. The Legacy Leadership Institute Helps Boomers Find Meaningful Work in the Second Half of Life
The Legacy Leadership Institute, sponsored by Antioch University Seattle and Leadership Tomorrow, matches retirees and working professionals who have flexible schedules with nonprofits which can benefit from their expertise. The Institute integrates classroom learning with onsite community service and ongoing mentoring. The first focus for the institute is on environmental issues. In the future, other important community issues will be targeted.
Participants:
- Discover how to apply their experience in a nonprofit setting.
- Learn from nonprofit and environmental experts in a fun and collaborative environment.
- Apply learning immediately in a professional role.
