Volunteers needed for Unite to End Homelessness Events

United Way of King County and numerous community partners will be providing services directly to homeless adults and families at the Unite to End Homelessness Community Resource Exchange November 13 in Seattle and November 15 in Renton. Join us for an inspiring day of volunteering where you will have the opportunity to reach out and help provide homeless people with much needed services. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following:

  • Event support
  • Client welcome and guidance to services
  • Data entry
  • Registration
  • Outreach

We also need volunteers with medical, dental, legal and mental health expertise.

You can also help by organizing a Community Resource Exchange supply drive at your company, school or faith community. You can collect the following:

  • Winter coats, hats and gloves
  • Blankets
  • Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant)
  • Reading glasses
  • Books for children and adults
  • New socks and underwear

The event is a collaborative effort involving United Way of King County, the Committee to End Homelessness, King County, City of Seattle, the housing authorities of Seattle and King County, City of Bellevue, Church Council of Greater Seattle and City of Renton. The event is being funded through a grant from the Fannie Mae Foundation's National Help the Homeless Program.

Please visit www.unitedwayofkingcounty.org/unite to get further details about the event, to sign up to volunteer and to get further details about organizing a supply drive.
