Director's Corner: Upcoming Impact Planning and Funding Cycle
United Way of King County has started the planning process for its next two-year funding cycle. We are excited about the progress that's been made in our priority impact areas especially ending homelessness and getting kids ready for school, and we plan to build on these successes in the next funding cycle.
Our Community Impact Councils made up of United Way staff and community volunteers from the business, nonprofit and government sectors, will be drafting revised impact plans for fiscal years 2009 and 2010 for the board's approval. While we do not anticipate major changes to the impact plans or large-scale shifts in funding to our priority areas, we will solicit input in the few areas where funding changes occur.
If you have any questions about our impact councils, impact plans or our funding allocation process, please e-mail Carter Hawley, associate vice president of Community Services or call 206.461.3706.
