Issues we support
The recession continues to take a heavy toll on low and moderate income individuals and families. In this time of increasing need and declining revenues for publically supported human services, we’re working to ensure that our community has a strong safety net that all people in King County can rely upon. Our public policy goals are focused on strategies that promote:
- Food security, housing stability and access to public benefits so that people’s most basic needs are met.
- Affordable housing and services for people experiencing homelessness so that everyone has a safe place to call home.
- Early learning, home visiting and quality child care because positive early childhood experiences last a lifetime.
- Philanthropy, charitable giving, volunteerism and building nonprofit capacity so that our communities are strong, vibrant and healthy.
