The average age of our tax customers was 42 years old and the majority, 53%, filed as single. Twelve percent of our customers reported having received unemployment at some point in 2004.8
We helped 214 people file prior year returns (2003, 2002, 2001) and helped them capture $220,000 in refunds.
In 2005, EITC tax customers spoke more than 20 different languages, 14% reported speaking Spanish and 13% reported speaking more than one language regularly.9 Communities are encouraged to recruit volunteers who speak multiple languages.

SeaTac Airport
The SeaTac site is unique in that it serves taxpayers where they work rather than where they live. The site was hosted by the Office of Airport Jobs for the second year in 2005. With additional outreach efforts the site expanded from 211 returns in 2004 to 324 in 2005, leveraging an additional $100,000 in Federal Refunds and additional $30,000 in EITC dollars.
In 2006 we plan to pilot a satellite tax site that will offer tax preparation services to those working in airport related jobs outside the airport.
