Our goals will be accomplished by working with community organizations throughout King County that directly serve those in need to focus on the following:

1. Strengthen the system for homeless assistance -- 'open the back door' to increase the flow of people out of homelessness.
2. Address the root causes of homelessness -- 'close the front door' to decrease the flow of people into homelessness.
3. Increase community awareness, dissolving stereotypes with public education and involvement.
4. Advocate for public policy.

With our proven leadership, United Way of King County is in a unique position to be a major agent of change in eliminating homelessness. Our greatest strength is you and our partnerships with agencies that serve homeless people. These organizations work together, moving people toward success and greater stability in their lives.
