IDA success stories

With the help of the IDA program, they made their dreams a reality, and you can too!

  • JENNA and her two daughters moved into their own home. Before, the three of them had to move often to remain in affordable, subsidized housing. "I feel empowered now," Jenna said. "It's great to know that if you want to help yourself there are tools out there to make your life better."
  • LUIS established his own tax preparation business. "If it wasn't for United Way's IDA program, I wouldn't have the successful business I have today. The money I saved, combined with the match, made it possible for me to set up a real office, purchase equipment and hire the staff I needed," Luis explained.
  • KRISTI used her savings to buy equipment vital to growing her small catering business. "I'm not a saver," Kristi admitted. "But I've developed a different mentality about money."
