New to United Way of King County?

Special thanks to our generous sponsors
Project LEAD

Congratulations to the 2007 Project LEAD class!

Project LEAD (Leadership Effectiveness and Diversity) is a United Way of King County leadership program which aims to increase the representation of people of color on nonprofit boards and in other positions of community leadership in King County. It enhances the ability of nonprofit boards and committees to better reflect and respond to the diversity of the communities they serve.

The program provides a fast track for highly qualified individuals to develop the knowledge base they need to become key volunteers at local nonprofits.

Participants attend a series of workshops conducted by professional trainers. They learn about the management of nonprofit organizations as well as volunteer roles and responsibilities.

Tools, information, and introductions help participants connect to a local nonprofit. Graduates of the program are fully prepared to work closely with nonprofit agencies to provide direction and help set policy to make a lasting, positive difference in our community.
