Do you care about your community? Are you looking for a place to get involved and meet other people? Would you like to volunteer, network and work alongside like-minded peers? If so, it sounds like you're an Emerging Leader!
United Way of King County's Emerging Leaders bring caring people in their 20s and 30s together to solve our community's toughest challenges by cultivating the next generation of leaders, volunteers and donors.
Upcoming events that you should get in on:
- Lead a Day of Caring project on Friday, Sept. 19. We make it easy for you to recruit your co-workers, friends and neighbors to volunteer at a local nonprofit that needs your help. You can sign up and pick your group's project now.
- Volunteer at the Emerging Leaders Day of Caring project on Friday, Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We'll be rolling up our sleeves and performing a makeover of the Cascade Women's Center with Compass Housing Alliance, less than a mile away from the After-Party where we'll eat and drink once the project is complete. Email Bevin to reserve your spot now.
- Second Saturday volunteer project, Oct. 11: Poppin' tags in Ballard with Ryther. Volunteer at the chic, all volunteer run, Ballard thrift shop RyStyle for Ryther. Join our group and help deep clean the store before it opens at noon. Double your good deed and bring a twenty to snag some bargains for yourself (plan to scope out the goods while you volunteer). Email Bevin to reserve your spot now.
- Second Saturday volunteer project, Nov. 8: Thanks and giving at North Helpline Food Bank. Keeping the theme of Thanksgiving and sharing abundance in mind, come volunteer to hand out food in the distribution line, help clients to their cars, check clients in and sort food. This volunteer opportunity is a great way to embrace the spirit of the holidays. Email Bevin to reserve your spot now.
