PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
United Way of King County’s vision is to build a community where people have homes, students graduate, and families are financially stable. As part of our work to end poverty, we are committed to ensuring that all children have access to healthy food in the places where they live, learn, and play.
Housing Connector is a tech-for-good nonprofit that increases access to housing for individuals most in need. We do this by solving financial and resident challenges for property owners so they can open doors to more people in the community, and by streamlining the housing search experience for case managers with our Zillow powered marketplace. Together, we ensure properties and residents have successful outcomes.
Collaborate with the Stability Support team to implement housing solutions for community and property partners, utilizing a ticket-based system to streamline processes and enhance communication. The Stability Support Agent plays a vital role in ensuring property partners can effectively support residents in maintaining housing while assisting community partners in managing financial and logistical considerations. This position fosters collaboration between housing providers and community organizations, enhances operational efficiency, and promotes housing solutions for individuals facing challenges in securing long-term accommodations.
MEMBER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, along with experience in community coordination and conflict resolution.
- Beneficial but not required are skills in fundraising and grant writing, leadership, public speaking, and recruitment
- Additionally, familiarity with social services, writing and editing, teamwork, and non-profit management can be advantageous.
- Tech savviness, strategic thinking, and complex problem-solving are also valuable for effectively supporting housing stability initiatives.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills to manage multiple service activities and adapt to program needs.
- Experience managing multiple projects and the ability to self-direct work.
- Ability to communicate clearly with staff members, partners, and AmeriCorps members.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with teams, partners, and community members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:
- Bi-weekly stipend of $1,155.14 (pre-tax)
- Loan deferment and payment of interest accrued on qualified student loans during your service term
- $7,395 Education Award or $1800 cash bonus upon successful completion of service

ELIGIBILITY:
- Must be over 18 years old on the first day of service
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Unfortunately, F1 visas are not sufficient.
- Must be available 40 hours per week through May 2026. Exact hours may vary, but will primarily be Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Must undergo a Washington State Patrol background check, FBI background check and National Sex Offender Registry Check, plus state of residence background check if not currently living in Washington
