Invite your friends over and join us virtually to learn how to make tamales alongside Frelard Tamales‘ co-founders and master chefs\, Dennis Ramey and Osbaldo Hernandez. Dennis and Osbaldo will teach guests how to cook some of their authentic handmade tamales that come from Osbaldo’s family who is from Puerto Vallarta in the west coast of Mexico. Plus\, you’ll also hear more about United Way’s work to end homelessness in King County—and how you can continue the impact. \nYour meal kit will provide you with all the ingredients you need to make delicious tamales at home! Please note that you will need a steamer or Instant Pot to cook the tamales. \nEach kit includes the following: (each kit serves 2 adults) \n\nFresh vegan masa to make 6 (1/2 lb.) tamales\nChoice of filling (meat\, vegetarian or vegan)\nCorn husks for tamales\nTies to wrap the tamales\nSalsa\, sour cream and pickled veggies\n(2) prepared individual salads with house-made mango vinaigrette\n\n  \nUnited Way is committed to making all of our events as accessible as possible. This fundraiser will take place from 9/8-9/30 and we will be collectively raising funds for The Black Community Building Collective. This is a unique chance to leverage your friends\, family\, neighbors\, and professional network to rally and give any amount they are able to this important collective of Black-lead organizations.
