12s Join the Seahawks to Feed Kids

By United Way of King County, on November 16, 2015 | In Breaking the Cycle of Poverty

You read in our last Investor Update about how you’re fueling the future for kids right here in King County.

A lot’s happened since then—and we never want to miss a chance to share the good your dollars are doing. We’re off to a great start thanks to early Fuel Your Future investors, including the Seattle Seahawks, Costco, Sounders FC, United Healthcare and the Neagle Foundation. So here’s the update 2.0 via our recent Facebook albums. (Have you Liked us yet?)

12s in September

Russell Wilson kicked off United Way’s Fuel Your Future Campaign at the 9/18 Day of Caring volunteer party. We love that Russell Wilson all the time. But we love him even more sporting an Emerging Leaders shirt during a photo opp with our AmeriCorps team.

12s in October

The Seahawks and 12s united again at the 10/13 Hometown Huddle. They rallied with Emerging Leaders at Dunlap Elementary in south Seattle, made the playground magical once again, and had a ton of fun with volunteers from Microsoft, PCL Construction and United Healthcare.

12s + United Way

All of this is part of our work to keep families stable and reach our goal of 50% fewer food-insecure kids in south King County.

Thanks to you, we’re on our way.
