What’s Better Than A Day Off?

By United Way of King County, on January 2, 2015 | In Volunteering

What are you up to on Jan. 19? Maybe you’re a lucky duck with the day off.

Make it a day on instead, and join United Way to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service through the wonderful world ofvolunteering. Be one of the nearly 2,000 people who come together to give back on their day off.

Wait, MLK Day is more than a federal holiday that squashes your planned errands to the bank and post office? It sure is. United Way’s MLK Day of Service is part of the nationwide service day to empower individuals, create solutions to social issues and get us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a stronger community. Read all about the national day.

We still have a volunteer spot with your name on it. Sign up as a project leader for your team or find a spot just for you. Can’t volunteer on MLK Day? Find another time to lend a hand that works for you.

Huge thanks to Union Bank for sponsoring this year’s MLK Day of Service.
