#LiveUnited

Hello,

Food prices have soared by 17% in two years, straining everyone's budgets. For struggling families, it's even worse. Summer is particularly tough as kids lose school meals, leaving one in six kids hungry in our state. That's unacceptable.

Each year, United Way of King County steps up and sets up Free Summer Meals sites to help. This year, 100 HungerCorps members will be at over 200 sites across King County to make sure kids get the nutrition they need for free and connect families to Summer EBT (SUN Bucks), a brand-new resource that provides low-income kids with $120 in food benefits!

"I love how community-oriented the program is—we really get to know the families we serve. My favorite part of the Free Summer Meals is the kids! I didn't expect to form such close connections and miss them when summer ended. That's why I'm returning to serve this summer."
—Sophie Wolters, Hunger Intervention Program volunteer
