How’s your summer been ${Recipient.contact.firstname[0]!""}? Ours is well underway at United Way, and it's been great!  

We aimed to connect 500,000 Washington kids to Summer EBT benefits (SUN Bucks), and we surpassed our goal, reaching 560,000 kids! That’s $66.7 million in federal food benefits—think 21 million gallons of milk, 9 million pounds of ground beef, or 247 million bananas! 

Did you know, United Way is also actively feeding 20,000 youth free summer meals and continuing to advocate with partners for expanding access to universal free school meals and free breakfast in school? Learn more about our efforts to ensure kids have the healthy food they need to learn and thrive.

Families are spending an average of $874.68 on back-to-school essentials. For those struggling with rent, food, and healthcare, this often means going without. Whether you’d like to donate supplies or get help, check out these back-to-school events in our community.

United Way of King County is proud to sponsor Black Philanthropy Month 2024 organized by the Black Future Co-op Fund! Join us for a virtual conversation on August 27 where Black leaders explore Afrofuturism and envision a powerful future for Black giving and community finance.

Join us for the 9/11 Day of Service and help pack 250,000 meals for people experiencing food insecurity in our community. Meals will be donated to Food Lifeline.
