Hello friend,
Across King County, families are navigating historically high rent and rising costs of living. Research shows that even a $100 rent increase can lead to a 9% increase in homelessness.
But we know that when families stay housed, children stay in school, parents keep their jobs, health outcomes improve, and communities avoid costly crisis responses.
That’s why United Way of King County focuses on homelessness prevention,
stopping evictions before they happen. By keeping our neighbors in their homes, we’re building the foundation for strong families, economies, and communities.

Big news! Washington State Senator Patty Murray has
secured $800,000 for United Way of King County’s Home Grocery Delivery Program as part of a multi-million dollar funding package for projects across Washington state.
This federal investment will allow us to continue serving thousands of families who can't easily access traditional food banks due to disabilities, transportation barriers, or work schedules. Since launching in 2020, our Home Grocery
Delivery Program has completed over 900,000 deliveries, making us one of the largest food bank delivery services in the nation.
