Hello friend,
When school lets out for the summer, many children lose access to meals, supplies, and other resources they rely on during the school year. To help bridge this gap,
United Way of King County partnered with Communities in Schools of Greater King County (CIS) to launch the first-ever Pack the Bus event on May 20.
More than 103 volunteers came together alongside staff and partners to assemble 2,500 food, hygiene, and summer activity kits
for students across King County. This is just another way United Way is showing up in tangible ways for our community every day. Because hunger and financial strain don’t take a summer vacation, and neither do we.

We're also especially grateful to our sponsors whose generosity made this event possible—our title sponsor Microsoft, who helped launch this inaugural effort, along with Accenture, Cambia Health Solutions, Cornerstone
General Contractors, Delta Dental, Impinj, Liberty Mutual ERGs, Pono Ranch, Puget Sound Energy, Seattle Children’s, and Talking Rain.
The bus is packed, the kits are on their way to students, and we're already dreaming about next year. We hope you'll join us as we make Pack the Bus even more impactful for our community!

During this year’s tax season, 652 volunteers with United Way of King County’s Free Tax Preparation Campaign helped secure more than $18 million in tax credits and refunds for local residents—surpassing
last year's total by more than $1 million. Together, they processed more than 12,000 tax returns, ensuring individuals and families in our community kept their hard-earned money.
And we’re not done yet! While most of our tax sites have wrapped up for the season, four of our tax sites remain open, with two continuing services through July 30.
