Ongoing—FareStart Food Volunteering

FareStart is looking for groups of 8 to support meal preparation and transport for their Community Meals & Food Resourcing Programs, serving schools, shelters, nonprofits, and care centers across King County. Check out their ongoing volunteer opportunities!

  • July 17—Free Summer Meals Celebration Join us as we celebrate the return of our Free Summer Meals Program in partnership with the City of Seattle with free food, a bouncy house, and fun activities for kids and families.

A UNITED IMPACT

 

When school is out, many children lose access to the meals they count on during the school year. Families can spend an estimated $300 more on groceries per child during the summer, which can be especially hard for families already struggling to make ends meet.

That's why United Way partners with schools, community organizations, and state agencies to help expand summer meal programs, support new meal sites, connect families to resources, and increase access to SUN Bucks (Summer EBT).
