#LiveUnited

Hi Friend,

I’ve been reflecting on the words of Martin Luther King Jr.: “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

In a time marked by global grief and uncertainty, I am continually moved by the courage of our United Way community—to speak up, to show up, and to take care of one another. Every day, I see how our shared commitment to community brings Dr. King’s vision to life through action, compassion, and solidarity.

On Jan. 19, we will honor Dr. King’s legacy and recommit ourselves to building a more equitable and just future together. We are proud to partner with the MLK Coalition and community partners for an annual Day of Service featuring volunteer opportunities, a march and rally, a career and opportunity fair, and Lunch and Learn (Jan. 21) focused on community-centered service.

As we begin this new year, I look forward to continuing this work alongside you. Thank you for choosing community and for inspiring hope and courage in all that you do.

In partnership,

Dr. Catherine Cushinberry

Interim CEO

United Way of King County

 A UNITED IMPACT

In response to the devastating floods in Western Washington, United Way of King County supported United Ways of the Pacific Northwest to provide emergency shelter, meals, and long-term housing recovery assistance. Together, our community raised more than $1,001,200 to meet urgent needs and help families begin to rebuild, demonstrating what is possible when we act together.
