Monthly Volunteer Project: Gardening at The Giving Garden

Mar 18 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
Marra Farms
9026 4th Ave S , Seattle, 98108

Join us on March 18 for a monthly volunteer opportunity to support families struggling to put food on the table by gardening with our local organization, Solid Ground. The Giving Garden is located on Marra Farm’s 8.7 acres of preserved farmland, and donates thousands of pounds of organic produce to food banks across Seattle.

  • Volunteers will be weeding, planting, and preparing vegetable beds to help the community access fresh produce!

  • Please bring a water bottle, lunch/snacks for yourself, and clothes for working outside in all weather (including a raincoat, warm socks, sturdy closed-toe shoes, a sunhat, sunscreen, etc.)

This opportunity is for young professionals. By participating you will receive similar opportunities emailed to you bimonthly. Each opportunity supports United Way of King County’s mission to create racially just communities where all people have homes, students graduate, and families are financially stable.

“I love getting involved and establishing community among my peers. One of my favorite memories with United Way is bringing the kids out to the farm and I hope to see you there!”
