From the Interim CEO: New Year Goals
Happy 2026!
It is a new year, and as usual, it’s when many either set intentions for the next twelve months or start on the path to meeting annual goals.
I try to break those goals down into short, medium, and long-term objectives so that I can achieve some wins along the way. I also use the start of the year to create clarity for the year.
In addition to goals, I focus on how I want to feel twelve months from now. I believe that when I focus on how I’d like to feel, then there is an added level of intention.
A big part of my intentions for the year is connected to my role as Interim CEO of the United Way of King County.

Soon, the organization will begin the formal search for its next leader. As part of this journey, it’s important to me that I continue to partner with the staff, board, and community to continue and deepen the impact of our presence and work in our community.
Yes, my role is to create a smooth transition for the next executive, and equally important is challenging our team to amplify and expand the depth of our services.
Our mission is important and necessary. As a result, we are doubling down on our intentions and commitment to provide services that meet the current needs of the community and are becoming nimbler than ever to serve as the needs shift and evolve with the times.
