Blog Post: Vote Yes on Prop 1: Investing in Seattle’s Families and Future
At United Way of King County, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. This November, Seattle voters can make that possible by voting YES on Proposition 1, the renewal of the Families, Education, Preschool & Promise (FEPP) Levy.
The FEPP Levy has a proven track record of helping children and youth succeed in every neighborhood. Renewing means we can continue investing in what works: high-quality early learning such as the ParentChild+ program, health and academic support in K–12 schools, and college and career pathways that open doors for all young people.
A Yes vote on Prop 1 will:
- Expand preschool access, adding 600 high-quality seats and doubling childcare assistance to reach 1,400 children annually.
- Strengthen school-based health services, with five new clinics and expanded telehealth for more than 6,500 youth each year.
- Sustain tuition-free college through the Seattle Promise Program and open new career pathways in the trades and high-demand fields.
For about $27 more per month for the average homeowner, we can ensure that every child is ready to start kindergarten, ready to learn, and ready to launch into a successful future.
When we invest in our kids, we invest in Seattle’s future. Join us in voting YES on Prop 1, because strong starts lead to stronger communities.
Ballots are due November 4, 2025.
