Adding Kimberly Harris to our list of All-Stars!

By United Way of King County, on August 16, 2016 | In News

We’re pretty ‘charged up’ about our new Campaign Chair, Puget Sound Energy’s Kimberly Harris. In her day job as CEO of Puget Sound Energy. Kimberly leads Washington state’s largest local energy company, providing safe and dependable energy to the Puget Sound region and making good on its commitment to help make communities better places to live and work. PSE and its employees are especially focused on helping our region be prepared to respond to the crisis of a natural disaster so that the individuals and families of our community are always safe, no matter the type of disaster.

In her role as campaign chair this year, Kimberly will do some very similar work. She’s helping raise awareness for people like Anthony who, after failing out of high school, got the support he needed and was able to get his education back on track. Or low-income parents like Jan and Adam who are struggling to keep a roof overhead and need a little support to avoid crisis.

She’s getting people in Seattle and around King County as fired up as she is about helping some of the most vulnerable in our community.  She’ll be:

  • Meeting with employees at key companies like Key Bank, US Bank and Perkins Coie
  • At Safeco Field for United Way’s Annual Breakfast introducing some of the impressive youth that she’s had the opportunity to meet
  • Cheering on volunteers at the Volunteer Party Sept. 20
  • Volunteering with a group from Puget Sound Energy at Day of Caring

We are thrilled to have Kimberly leading our campaign and hope you’ll join us and support her in building a community where people have homes, students graduate and families are financially stable.
