Join us for a virtual brunch-inspired event with Boon Boona Coffee and Hood Famous Bakeshop. Guests will participate in a traditional East African coffee ceremony with Efrem Fesaha (Founder, Boon Boona Coffee) and bake up some delicious hand pies with Chera Amlag (Founder, Hood Famous), all while discussing United Way’s rental assistance work and how you can make an impact.
Kit includes: (serves 2)
- 12oz bag of whole bean coffee from Boon Boona
- Adobo hand pies* (chicken -or- mushroom)
- 2 ube cookies
*Hand pies will come “deconstructed”. During the event, Chera Amlag will walk guests through assembling the hand pies and baking them so they’re ready to enjoy.
Guests will need to pick up their kit prior to the event. Pick up will be available between 3-5 p.m. on Friday, April 23 at Hood Famous Cafe + Bar.
This event is an opportunity to come together, build community, and raise funds for the important work United Way does daily to ensure people have homes, students graduate, and families are financially stable. We hope you’ll join us!
