Connect For Good-Fighting Food Insecurity

Join us for our next Connect for Good opportunity for a more in-depth volunteer experience around issues of hunger and food insecurity in our local neighborhoods. Participants learn from experts on the issue, roll up their sleeves to volunteer, and fundraise to support effective solutions. The experience culminates in the group of 30 young professionals planning and facilitating fun activities for elementary school children and their families at Family Market Nights at local schools.

Note that this is a multiple day volunteering opportunity and participants will need to commit to the following schedule:

Wednesday 2/19 (6pm – 8:30pm)

·       Introduction to United Way: Overview of Four Focus Areas

·       Part 1: Fuel Your Future

·       Part 1: Fundraising basics/ best practices

February 20 – February 25 (fundraise and work on activities)

Wednesday 2/26 (6pm – 8:30pm)

·       Part 2: Fundraising basics/ best practices

·       Part 2: Fuel Your Future

Wednesday 3/11 (5pm-8pm)

·         Family Market Night

By signing up for this project you are committing to participating during Feb/Mar  (a duration of 3 weeks). 

This opportunity is open to young professionals as part of our Emerging Leaders 365 program.
