United Way King County Building

This project has reached capacity! Please join us for a different volunteer project instead.

For a lot of kids, the end of school means the end of homework, of finals, of waking up early. For the thousands of King County kids who rely on free and reduced lunch, though, it also means the end of reliable meals. United Way of King County is working to end summer hunger through Summer Food Invasion sites around the area, where kids can come to play and grab breakfast or lunch – or both!

As part of the program, United Way is hosting Field Day events throughout the summer when the community can come tour sites and engage in fun activities with the kids. Those take a lot of prep – and that’s where Emerging Leaders come in! We’ll be creating additional games, making decorations and putting together kits for groups and kids who visit the site.
