October brings cooler temps and more rainy days – for most of us, that just means an extra layer and maybe a raincoat. However, for homeless youth, what seems minor to most people can be a huge burden. Friends of Youth helps alleviate that burden; it’s the only youth shelter on the Eastside, and offers services and resources in addition to a dry, warm place to sleep.
Emerging Leaders will be lending a hand at the organization to prep for fall, when shelters get busier and staff need all the help they can get. Needs vary week to week, so we’ll be pitching in wherever necessary, from light gardening outside to prepping and organizing materials inside.
