Join Emerging Leaders in honoring Dr. King’s legacy by supporting those in need this MLK Day. In partnership with the Low Income Housing Institute, we’ll be visiting the Ballard and Interbay encampments to serve and share a lunch with those living in the camps.
It’s an amazing opportunity to see firsthand what it’s like to not be housed and learn from those who deal with its challenges every day – and to make a huge difference with something as simple as a hot meal. You’ll leave the project with a deeper understanding of homelessness and how economic injustice from the high cost of living affects a diverse population of Seattleites, including families with children, seniors, veterans, immigrants and refugees.
