Have you ever wondered what happens at the end of the day with the extra food restaurants and cafes have? Does it get tossed, eaten by animals or composted? Maybe at some places, but with the intervention and creative solutions of Food Lifeline, good food from manufacturers, farmers, grocery stores and restaurants is now being used to stop hunger.
Food Lifeline provides over 91,00 meals to local food assistance programs and has found new, sustainable ways to redirect surplus food to over 275 members in their food program network.
Emerging Leaders will be helping to support this outstanding organization by assisting with the inspection, sorting and repacking donations for hunger relief partners across Western Washington.
