Nov 1 6:00 PM-8:00 PM
United Way King County Building
720 Second Avenue, Seattle, 98104

Have you ever wondered how funders like United Way decide which organizations will receive grants? Explore grant-making through a racial equity lens with a community services expert and work with fellow volunteers to select nonprofit agency recipients for MLK Day of Service mini-grants. This is a unique opportunity to learn and get involved!

Note that this is a multiple day volunteering opportunity and participants will need to commit to the following schedule:

Tuesday 11/1 (6-7:30PM), virtual. A zoom meeting invitation will be sent to all registrants prior to the session.

  • Introduction to United Way of King County & MLK Day of Service
  • Grantmaking with a racial equity lens

November 2-11 (review grants)

Saturday 11/12 (11AM-1PM), @ El Centro de la Raza in Beacon Hill (2524 16th Ave S. Seattle, WA 98144)

  •     Grantmaking discussion and determination
