Volunteer and Learn - Supporting Black-led Organizations

Join us for a Volunteer and Learn opportunity in recognition of Black History Awareness Month as we learn about one of United Way’s areas of work supporting BIPOC-led organizations.

You will learn about the Black Community Building Collective, a group of 15 Black nonprofit leaders that have come together to determine how United Way funding will be directed to support equitable recovery and the long-term viability of King County’s Black community. You’ll hear about the progress, challenges, and hopes for this work. This learning portion will be held virtually on the evening of February 17, 5:30pm – 6:30 pm.

Then join us for the an in-person* volunteer opportunity on February 20, 5:30pm-7 pm with REACH, an organization focused on ending homelessness and hunger in the city of Renton. You will serve a hot meal to clients and support with other tasks as needed during the meal service.

*You will need to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask in order to participate in the volunteer opportunity.
