United Way of King County Statement on California Shootings

By United Way of King County, on January 25, 2023 | In News

United Way of King County grieves with the families of those lost in the Monterey Park shooting as well as the entire Asian American community on what had been a joyous and festive worldwide celebration of the Lunar New Year. Coupled with the tragedy in Half Moon Bay, CA days later, the U.S. has tallied 39 mass shootings in 2023; we are stunned and saddened as the epidemic of gun violence makes virtually no community safe.

We stand with our Asian communities and our thoughts are with the victims, the survivors and all affected by these tragic acts of violence.
