Young professionals, changing lives-one pair of shoes at a time!
This past Saturday 56 Emerging Leaders 365 came out to Redeeming Soles for an exciting Day of Caring project. These incredible volunteers rolled up their (proverbial) sleeves and immediately got to work! They quickly cleaned, sorted, and boxed up around 1,000 pairs of shoes!
One Emerging Leader 365 excitedly noted, “this is a such a fun way to give back to the community and make sure people are connected to the footwear they need”
Emerging Leaders 365 also had the opportunity to hear directly from the ED of Redeeming soles, Jessica Reasy, who shared the heartwarming origin story of this work. This non-profit organization is pivotal in providing proper footwear and dignified foot care to those in need throughout the Pacific Northwest. Ensuring someone has access to shoes can be the catalyst behind giving someone the confidence to go to a job interview or ensure feet stay warm as the rain and fall months approach!
Through the process of getting shoes cleaned and ready to be placed in the hands of those who need them most, Emerging Leaders 365 had the opportunity to network, share laughs, and depart with a strong sense of satisfaction, knowing their day of volunteering would make a tremendous impact!
The day wrapped up with a visit from United Way’s Campaign Co-Chairs, Chris Capossela and Leigh Toner, who came out to inspire, cheer everyone on, and emphasize the importance of Day of Caring projects and the strength of Emerging Leaders 365.
