I believe every child should have an equal chance to succeed. I am proud to partner with UWKC as a Change Maker to support that mission because I trust UWKC to leverage their incredible partnerships to make my dollar go further.

I chose to be a part of the Changemakers because United Way is focused on the right things; fighting homelessness with an eye towards empathy and dignity, extending support to our underserved neighbors with a lens that promotes equity and diversity, and lending food, rent and tuition assistance to our neighbors working to better their lives and to break the cycle of poverty that afflicts our disadvantaged communities.

The causes UWKC cares for aligns perfectly with the causes I would like to support.

“When just $100 a month can ensure 10 students take the GED and complete their high school education, or help find permanent housing for one family, or feed a classroom of children for a year,  United Way of King County is the organization I want directing my dollars and my energy, and being a Change Maker facilitates exactly that. Being a change maker has provided me an opportunity to meet with people who share the same connection with United Way, and to give back the community in a hands-on way. I am thankful for United Way to take care of our community and to help people in need.

I love seeing the direct impact UWKC has on the community to help people having homes and being financially secure.

There is an insane amount of untapped potential within our community trapped behind inequitable systems and processes. I have seen firsthand UWKC’s initiatives draw from this well and witnessed the life changing impact it has on people.
