Night Out for Caring a Hit for Kids’ Education
Along with 1,800 of our newest friends, on Sept. 21, United Way raised money for kids’ education and celebrated our community at the 2018 Night Out for Caring at Safeco Field. And it was a blast.
Stormtroopers, Darth Vader and others from the Galactic Empire joined forces for selfies. Tons of kids’ books were purchased for kids in our Parent-Child Home Program. This goodness and more made Night Out for Caring a Seattle party to remember.
” Partygoers explored the dugouts, batting cages, visitors’ clubhouse and other Safeco hot spots like they owned the place. Plus they got to run the bases and pose at 2nd base with a giant-size Live United sign.
During the hilarious Celebrity Sprint for Kids relay, KOMO 4’s Mary Nam, former Seahawk Jordan Babineaux, Ethan Stowell of Ethan Stowell Restaurants and others raced around the outfield. They donned a crayon costume and stuffed school supplies into backpacks to represent the theme of the evening: supporting early learning programs for low-income kids.
Karaoke in Macklemore’s Cadillac won the evening for most popular spot, especially when former Sounder Roger Levesque sang a duet with MOViN 92.5’s Brooke Fox.
Kids’ Education Wins the Night
Every child deserves a chance to succeed in school, and every person at this party with a purpose stood up for that. All ticket and event proceeds support the Parent-Child Home Program. Read more about this great early learning program.
To everyone who attended, thank you for your support and energy. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
