Big $ For At-Risk Youth: Softball Results

By United Way of King County, on May 17, 2017 | In Helping Students Graduate

Last Saturday’s All-Star Softball Classic brought down Safeco Field! Not in a Seattle Kingdome kind of way. In a raising some serious donations and community support for at-risk youth kind of way. And we didn’t even notice the torrential downpours over head (gotta love that retractable roof).

We saw home runs, grand slams and even a 20-11 blowout score in inning 4. Plus a controversial call by the ump on Macklemore’s scoring run! What a fun, inspiring day to do great things for at-risk youth. How could you not be blown away?

Where’s the $ go? Proceeds are already heading to work to end homeless for young people like Angel. This includes shelters, counseling and other prevention programs for at-risk youth, and life and job skills training so young people can keep on stable ground. Over 100 volunteers and 27 sponsors powered this game from beginning to end.

Thank you to all for moving youth off the streets, out of homelessness, and on track for a stable future.

Check out the socializing that happened at the game!

A wonderful fundraiser to help the youth!
I enjoyed the stars, the game, and what better way to spend it helping our youth.
