Move over, Seattle’s Morning News. You too, Seattle DINING! food and wine show. Seattle has a new podcast, courtesy of United Way of King County.

Hourglass United Way is a podcast that is about our time, namely how we and our partners spend it making a difference in our communities. The podcast features stories and information about our work, highlights organizations that provide services such as rental assistance, and announces our upcoming events.

The podcast is now available on our website, UWKC.org/hourglass, and it can also be heard on some of the most popular podcast hosting sites, including Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Amazon Music.

The two most recent Hourglass entries feature organizations from two of our community partnership groups—the Indigenous Communities Fund and the Racial Equity Coalition.

This week’s podcast features Racial Equity Coalition member Filipino Community of Seattle, which spoke about creating an after-school program that teaches youth about their heritage and culture.

The previous week’s podcast featured Indigenous Communities Fund member Chief Seattle Club. It focused specifically on James Lovell, the chief community development officer and newly elected member of SeaTac City Council.

United Way hopes our podcast will keep readers more informed about our programs, services, and advocacy as we work side by side with communities to build an equitable future for everyone. Please send comments about and suggestions for the podcast to hourglassunitedway@gmail.com.
